Printer Troubleshooting Guide
Printer Doesn't Print:
Check if power light is ON if not check power adapter or power point.
Restart printer.
If it is a LAN or WIFI printer restart Router or Modem (check if the POS is connected to WIFI) usually TP Link router from Wsoft (black with 3 antennas to work correctly need to have one blue light on the top).
For WIFI printer check if there is red light on the top of the printer where paper gets out. If the light is off printer can't connect to Wifi and needs to be reprogrammed (Setup new wifi name and password).
Check IP address. Turn off the printer. Then press and hold feed button and turn printer on. Release feed button after 5 seconds. Printer will print self test page with LAN and WIFI IP address (LAN IP is usually near the top and WIFI IP is underneath or at the bottom). Check if the IP address is same in Windows.
Compare Printer’s IP address with computer’s IP address. They need to be on same subnet (ie. 192.168.1.XX) If computer’s IP address is on different subnet (first 3 numbers are different) then you need to reprogram printer’s IP address.
If it's USB Receipt printer check if USB cable is not disconnected.
Restart Windows.
Check settings in PushPOS - sometimes customers tick Receipt checkbox so prep printer will not print preparation dockets.
Printer is Printing Blank Paper:
Check paper position inside printer (needs to be rolled out from bottom).
Check if it's thermal paper.
Paper jam
Restart the printer.
If doesn't help turn it off and remove front cover.
Turn white nob (wheel) until you are able open paper doors.
Release paper jam place back the cover and paper try if it work.
If not cutter is damaged. Then released the jam again and turn off paper cutter in PushPOS settings untick cutter and press save).
